PLR Articles – Quality Matters
Using PLR articles to build your business is a great short cut but if you are going to do it successfully then you need to make sure you are buying good quality articles.
There are boatloads of private label rights articles (PLR) available on the market. Indeed, if you dig in you will find there are so many that it becomes difficult to sort unless you know who writes good stuff and who writes the junk. New bundles of PLR Articles are released all the time and many are very similar to ones previously launched.
If you are buying PLR then this is a time to research and make sure you are not buying something poorly written or something that has been published a thousand times. You want to use PLR that has fresh ideas from an author that knows their niche.
Now, if you are a writer wanting to create PLR articles then this is a time to look at what is on offer and what you could do differently. Could you write a guide or a newsletter that answers peoples questions and solves problems?
It looks pretty simple and it is pretty simple if you are confident in your writing ability. Just whip up a few pieces of content, bundle it up, and ask the right people in the market to promote your article bundle.
The simplicity of this business model makes it very easy to get into the market. This is good for helping competent writers make a start in the business. However, it is just as easy for poor quality writers to fill the market with useless junk content – So if you are buying you need to be wary of the poor quality stuff and be on the lookout for the superior grade content.
Internet marketers outside of PLR sellers tend to have a poor opinion of PLR products in general which is quite understandable if they have never dived right in and understood the market properly. It is true that there is more bad PLR than good available online.
However, there are probably more bad books than good books on Amazon and more bad films than good films on Netflix. This is the same principle, a question of sorting out what you like. Or what suits your needs, for yourself or your blog posts. Ultimately, if when you have published it will it serve your audience.

Substance or Filler
There is a lot of fluff out there! Some writers will have a word target to hit on a subject and really not be too bothered that they have filled it with a load of meaningless fluff. They will be paid to write a 5,000 word article or even a 1,000 word article and as long as it is generally on the right subject and they have the right amount of words then that is fine in their eyes. It is unhelpful, though, for the person who hopes to use it as valuable content on their blog and the end reader hoping to learn something.
Beware of content with huge print, extra spacing, poor grammar, and meaningless sentences. These are signs that you have stumbled on a fluff merchant. You especially don't want to buy resale rights content to use on a PLR ebook as longer form fluffy content just achieves nothing.
People that write well and with authority are few and far between but they are there and you can make use of their content to good effect. Equally, if you write well there is certainly room for you to get writing too.
PLR Writer or Vendor?
Is the person you are buying from the actual writer or a marketer that pays others to write and collates PLR articles into bundles to sell?
This is an important question to answer. If you are buying from a vendor that writes his own content you can have some degree of certainty that the next content you buy will be as good as the last. A sense of consistency to give you the confidence to buy without worry.
If the marketer is paying others to write the content then you can be less confident in the quality of the PLR content.
Oftentimes English is a second language to the seller and he doesn’t really know if the content is grammatically correct or topically on point. They package it up and make it sound good but frequently it is poor quality in reality.
Poor quality content is launched all the time and because of the reciprocal nature of seller promotion, they manage to talk this stuff up and sell it in surprising numbers.
Always remember we are looking for quality above all else. It is your business and we don’t want to publish poor content just because it didn't cost much money.
PLR Prices
The price of PLR articles or bundles cannot be taken as an indication of quality. Paying more may not necessarily get you a better deal or a better quality article. Also it may not get you content that serves your purpose. For instance you may want social media style articles and the product is a more blog content type article.
Timing is everything, as they say. If you catch it right you can get some very good content at a bargain price. Established content providers often charge lower prices at the launch of a new piece of PLR content and increase after 7 days or so. The price of a PLR articles bundle could start at $17 but increase to a price of $47 or more within a week. It is great if you can get it at the lower price, we all like to save money, but more important is to be buying the right quality and relevant content for your business.
Some sellers won’t mind overcharging for poor quality writing so I must reiterate that it is important to research the quality and reputation of the vendor's previous work.
I would also reinforce, that the pricing is influenced more by the timing than the quality or even size of the PLR bundle.
Buy Quality PLR
If you want to make sure that you buy quality PLR articles then, as I have said previously, research is key. The best way to do that is to join a private label rights forum or facebook group where this sort of thing is discussed on a regular basis. You can ask who is the best writer of PLR articles on whatever subject and you will usually be pointed in the right direction.
Although there are plenty of PLR articles available to buy when you ask who the best vendors are then the number really drops back. You will find that the same names just keep being mentioned. The right vendor will even have free PLR articles that are better that most of the paid low quality articles available.
If you notice a PLR product selling well and achieving high numbers on sales platforms like Warriorplus or JVZoo it isn’t a guarantee of quality either. Sellers tend to help each other by promoting each other's products to their email lists and creating a lot of sales together. So, the product rises in the top sellers lists regardless of its quality. People will buy it for its intended use as private label content and others won’t even understand what PLR means and just buy it because it is on a top sellers list and sounds useful. If the platform notices it is selling well it may also give it an extra boost by mailing out to everybody that uses the platform. That is great for the seller but doesn’t really tell the buyer anything that should influence your purchasing decision. It is quality. So again research and quality are key.
Don’t be put off by the naysayers. There are high quality content sellers out there and some very good products. You just need to be prepared to dig in and find your bearings within the market and have the patience to work out what to buy and who to buy from to achieve your goals.
Rest assured there are great quality PLR ebooks , PLR articles and even PLR videos out there. You just need to do a bit of detective work to find the gold.
